Opals Group, a telecommunications infrastructure provider based in Woodston, Peterborough acquired a 41,660 sq. ft warehouse building situated just outside the city centre back in August last year. Since then, the building has been undergoing a substantial refurbishment and is preparing to open its doors at the start of July this year.
The acquisition of the premises was part of the organisations continued expansion plans and has provided a unique opportunity in the current climate to create multiple new job opportunities.
Opals Group has recently gone from strength to strength and was awarded “Medium Business of the Year” at the Peterborough Telegraph Business Excellence Awards in late 2019. The award was given to the business that “has not only increased its own profitability and potential but has also had a positive impact on the sub regional economy as a whole.”
Sam Hodge, Managing Director of Opals Group, adds: “It has been a very worrying period for all businesses during this uncertain time. We have had to overcome our own obstacles to ensure our people are kept safe whilst they carry out their vital work providing services to our clients. The work Opals undertakes to install, upgrade and maintain critical communications networks is classified as ‘essential work’ by the Government and during this period the safety of our people is and always will be our first priority.
I look forward to welcoming our team back into our brand-new facilities after working from home and continuing to provide local people with the opportunity to be part of our growing team.”
